5 femcees bout to take over the tri-state rap scene
One thing that has always been a black spot in hip-hop has been the lack of female emcees. Even worse the female emcees who do break into the game stick to the cliche selling sex instead of lyrics. Not since the late 80's early 90's has there been a female emcee who has been internationally relevent in the hip-hop game. Big name female rappers like lauren hill, mc lyte, lady rage, and roxanne shante have faded out and the new crop of female emcees nowadays got the world thinking can a female actually spit. If you look deep enough into the underground you will see they deffintly do, femcees like jean grea, psalmsa one, rocky riveria and k-lay have shown the hip-hop community that female rap deeper then just about whats in there jeans. The east coast is known exception. since i started running this blog i have came across some female emcees that would leave half the male emcees in the dust
here are the 5 top female emcees i have come across who will make a huge impact in east coast hip-hop
DAMA NILZ
Coney island native dama nilz is a rare type of emcee regardless of sex. Shes a battle emcee who can perfectly rip a track as well. Dama nilz flow has impressed east coast heavyweight nems and has aligned with his fuck ya lyfe crew. Besides impressing the local nyc scene she has spitting to rave reviews to hip-hop legends like talib kwli
She has won multiple end of the week crowns beating out nyc heavyweights such as final outlaw and math hoffa. At the young age of 21 dama nilz got a flow most guys wish they can have and co-signs most budding emcees can dream of. After opening up for ghost face at phaukeepisie,ny ghostface complemented her "damn this girl be breaking backs." be on the look out for a collab cd with another female heavywieght j.rose and her brother george burnez coming soon
ALI
Allentown, pa based femcee ali is far from the mainstream chiche of a female lyricist. With her gritty streat delivery, and her tomboy look if you didnt take a second to carefully listen to her flow youd think she was a guy. Alligned with up and coming lv powerhouse deth star ali has been making a name for herself in the 61o hip-hop scene by easily outshining any of her label mates. If your in the 610 arae make her to check out her and other hot female rappers at allentowns club mixx august 5th
medinah starr
mendinah starr,s vibe on the mic brings you back to the glory days of hip-hop. You could classify mendinah more then just another rapper shes a poet, and a visionary. Residing in west philly mendinah has drawn comparisons to a early queen latifah, spitting lyrics about unity and self respect, something no mainstream femcee does cus they got no respect for themselves. Mendihah is allready on her road to stardom having already toured in germany, france and candada, with her single perseverance making candanas best of the year list for hip-hop. Havent allready worked with hip-hop legendary producer premier, and spitting on the tracks with heavyweights like torre, and shadeem shadeeq some would say medinah has allready made it. Now its time for her just to be heard by a wider audience
j. rose
j.rose may have massive sex appeal but don't expect this coney island native to start spitting about her sexual endevours, j.rose brings us back to he days of classic nyc hip-hop. Pure rhymes rapping about the dying hip-hop game, pure love, and staying on the heavy punchline tip. J.rose is a force to wreckon with.

philly rap scene presents heavy spitters vol 1 MIXTAPE REVIEW

hulkshare.com%2F2hz412fvar4t&h=dAQDhdL4H
When it comes to hip-hop there isnt a local scene more dominate and as respected as the philly hip-hop scene. Yea nyc may be the birthplace of rap but also theres nyc rappers responsible for the death of rap. There hasnt been a philly cat ive heard come on the mic spit some wack shit just to keep a deal philly hip-hop is one of the most dedicated hip-hop scenes if not the most in the usa. There has been rappers on magor deals sell gold records and still stay true to themselves. Artist like benie seigal and freeway have paved a path for up and coming philly spitters to walk. Even the underground hip-hop scene has steady routes in philly. Supergroup army of the pharoahs was birthed in philly, jedi mind tricks is philly based, freestyle heavyweight e-ness is philly from blood to death. Heavy spitters vol 1 includes tracks from philly legends like freeway, meek millz, reed dollaz, and benie seigal to local favorite like nico the beat, rec raw, the vets and hedonis. Even know how much a artist blows up they stay true to there philly routes as freeway shows in "philly in me" freeway spits about how philly made him the way he was "i remember those days i had nothing now im stuntin" and lyrically freeway is growing a artist all the time. Philly hip-hop is still stuck in the 80's never loosing the true routes of hip-hop as benie seigal proves in "b.boy stance" where he takes you down a trip down memory lane to the forgotten days of hip-hop. going from rakim , to krs, ice t d.oc and other hip-hop legends trying to bring the routes of hip-hop back. Philly rappers stay to rapping about what they know in "life is real" izzy foreal spits about the true struggle of making it as a artist and showing rappers how to keep there priorities straight. "know when i tell you my lifes real i mean to mortgage, gas and light bill i could of been signed waiting for the right deal" this is a true line most rappers dont wait and jump to the first deal offered and ending signing there life over. The hip-hop scene is the heart soul and news of philly. the philly hip-hop scene is the philly community. from a therapist "pain" by nico the beast where he spits with a emotional delivery "i spit how i feel even though i dont feel right" he spits to help other rappers with there struggle. to guide and consequences of hustling "guiny millz "trading places" The hilly rap scene is the heart of the underground hip-hop game period. The Philly hip-hop scne even shows there more to femcees than sex appeal when hedonis spits as hard as any male rapper in "lets boogie" with former rock a fella artist peedi crack A solid listen from beginning to end no tracks to skip.

Tone Dolla$ - Noone
Music is life for most emcee,s putting there heart and soul into every track they spit, but some emcees have a family who mean more to then than rap itself, and show there love to them in there music combining there two biggest loves. This is what tone tolla@ does in his latest single noone. tone starts off his track with the hard truth that most women will keep you away from your kids n say you don;t give a fuck, something i can relate to. "i love you to dont let anyone tell you diffrent, in if they do dont give it a listen, if they say i wasnt there so fake, keep it real keep it grmey they slimey like snakes" then he goes into rapping about every joy of fartherhood. A perfect dedication track to is kids. Lyrics are un-consitant but when your expressing your feeling the message is bigger sometimes. He picks up lyrically on the 2nd verse. This is a solid lyrical effort and a amzing dedication

viro the virus VIOHAZARD remix mixtape

http://plixid.com/2011/07/12/viro-the-virus-virohazard-2011-mp3/
When it comes to jersey hip-hop viro the virus is one of the illest jersey rappers who still rep jersey. co-signed by German super producers the snow goons and featured on there classic black snow album viro hasnt released to much material but the stuff he has is untouchable. Taking from the same route r.a the rugged man did releasing a single here and there keeping his fans on edge viro has proven from what he has released hes one of jerseys best products in the rap community. On this remix mixtape vio-zard witch has remixes from the snowgoons viro's top notch lyricism is showcased. viro confronts alot of different subject matters on this mixtape on the track "kid you now" he raps about the opinions people have on him as a artist, both negative and positive. "i heard alot about me like when im liquored up i cant keep my wits about me, i deliver the same hype chuck did but people dont like nor trust it"he spits on the real tip how since hes a unknown rapper with not much credibility outside the underground people overlook him, even though artist like x-clan and public enemy been spitting on the same subject matters for years to rave reviews and support. "illogical scholar i turn a pocket of cronic to a first full of dollars" this statement suggest no matter how you smart nowadays your make more money being trife then using your smarts. he keeps this type of logic up throughout this whole album. if its threatening to knock sense in wack emcees in slum dog "all these net bloggers who think there top-shot hip-hoppers till i knock them out like one arm boxers show them how to flow proper as hot as jalapeno poppers" to depicting the effects on drugs "i see the price of cocaine must of went way up after i see things these dames do for a buck" then in the same line expressing the diminishing hip-hop scene "the rap game went lame the industry sucks". There are a hand full of new tracks from viro that shows he hasnt tamed as a lyricist as all. On the track "desperate" he spits about how desperate rappers are for a hit and some of the sick shit theyd do to make a hit while spitting one of his best bars to date "im the best with no augument slapping rappers for yappin whos fraudulent on the ground like knees with no cartilage one line will seize your whole audience" satill the best track on this is the track that made viro a house hold name in the underground scene in "starlight" remixed by black luger it brings a whole different vibe to this classic while the beat complements the amazing lyricism that caught the worlds attention in the first place this is not only the best east coast mix tape ive heard may be on of the best albums ive heard all year

brothamanz The Devil Wont
i remember first hearing about easton natives bothamanz a few years ago though myspace havent heard to much from them in the last few years intill now. There newest single "the devil won't off there p coming enigma is a solid track about a fight with the devil. Now this has become a plaid out concept in the last months ive reviewed tracks by daze dysh and youn trouble on the same subject matter. They bring a different light to the devils struggles though incorporating the devils demons from them making it in rap "this is what i wanna be the devils stopping me from getting it" is spitting on the sup-par chorous. one thing i like is his delivery style its on point his lyrics are a little basic at times but the way he spits it makes up for it. This is a solid effort

Niecy Rob "Just the Beginning"
If the world things that females cant rap they dont have there ear in the tri-state area rap scene from j.rose, damanilz, meinah star and more there are females that could rip half these male rappers on the mic, Jersey city native niecy rob is one of them. Unlike the others shes a double threat both a rapper and a amazing singer something that hasnt been seen since lauren hill. Niecy is 80's true hip-hop to the heart not the typical femcee. "this is not my dream its my reality" she boast in the begining of the track showing that her heart is in this rap shit and even if shes a up and coming her dream of rapping is complete. She comes up with some slick metephors "i got something you all like spinning your heads like a wheels on a bike. her delivery is laid back ad o oit her lyrics are solid top notch for a female emcee, she got soom for improvment but is on her way to big things
