LINGO: RHYME A FEW BARS SINGLE REVIEW

www.myspace.com/lingo

Its sad when a talented emcee gets lost in mainstream bullshit and is all about rhyming to get money, andhoes. From the begining biggie sample inn the begining you can tell lingos all about the cheddar and hoes. Even sadder "im give it 2 stars but im a five star general" the game changed what happened, but i t dotn matter ill roll with it" he spits about how the game changed for the worse but how hes switching his style just for the cheddar. Lucky he hasa more complex rhyme scheme for a mainstream taste even though 95 percent of the rest of his songs are pussy money gats. steady release regardless even though i hate when talent waste themselves

before the collison:BREAKING THE BARRIER

www.myspace.com/btcfamily

Even though the racial bareer in music has been broken the rock scene hasnt been hit hard by the racial invasion as rap and pop have.blacks in rock music have been minimal.Punk rock has whole wheat bread and bombs before destruction, hardcore wize scas of tommorow and manchester orchestra got blakc guitarist and straight lien stich adn kilswitch engaged got black vocalist, and the most cricvaly aclaimed rock band of the new millnium is 100% afircan american (tv on the radio) Its harder fora black act to make it in rock then a white rapper. Th 4 piece rock band before the collison out of union jersey, plans to be the next black family in the hardcore scene. With mellowed out guitar intro's moving into heavy trash guitar and death metal vocals, the bands main comparision would be unearth. Lyrical whoeveer pens the lyrics for this band is a genious. Such vivid looks into pain and agony metaphors wieved inever guitar riff, its kindof sad you can barely understand the vocals cus if you could you'd see this the writer is a poet lareute in the making def a band worth checking out

lost city angels *my frustration" single review

www.myspace.com/lostcityangels

Its one thing to have insperations, its another to use there sound and bite there style, but true artist will take there influences and create there own unique sound while leaving traces of the sounds of the bands they were inspired by in there music. Thats whats remenicant in boston punk rockers lost city angels sound. Vocal reminisants of rancid, guitar and vibe styles on point with social distortions. and even taking cords out of the playbook of fellow bostonites dropkick murrays. A nice blend of in your face punk ska, and alt rock lost city angels are deffintly a band to look out for. There dno cut of there latest single my frustration is a stellar basement style recording about self shame and hopelessness. A story of a average teenages makign up escuses on why not to pursue there dreams deffintly will hit the hearts of there listeners. Its nice to see a non emo band able to write songs that will in time help change the lifestyle of there demographic listers. Not since social distortions early demos have i been moved by a unisgned punk act. Deffintly keep your eye out for them

dutch just before the rain (single review)

http://www.myspace.com/dutchtrip

unlikley couplings in music are nothing new. Sometimes they end in tragic results (weezer feat lil wayne can't stop partying, jonas brothers feet common don;t chareg me for the crime), some times classic material can spurn (allison kraus and robert plant rasing sand, gnarz barkley st elsewhere.) Never has there everbeen a collaborative effort so harmonizing and so unlike each other. Super producer stoupe from jedi mind tricks and norah jones esc jazz vocalist lisa fullerton are dutch, the newest act on vinnie paz new label enemy soil. They just releases there first single before the rain off there soon to be released debute ep a bright cold day. Even though this isnt there first collabortive effort (shes been featured on jedi mind tricks razorblade salvation and death messiah)this is the first time she isnt singing a chilling hook. The track is a chillin track abut break up and heartbreaks. Liz vocals enogh are able to send chills down your spine but stoupes ever allways hauntign isntrementals set the vibe to a emotional roller coaster worthy of a grammy nomination. who knows shes jazzy enough maybe shell get the credit she well deserves

CYMARSHALL LAW (R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON SINGLE REVIEW)

www.myspace.com/cymarshalllaw

Ill be the first one to tell you how over hyped Michael Jackson was and still is and i know you'll be the first one to tell me to stop hating on a legend. He isn't the top selling artist of all time, he don't got the top selling album of all,or the most #1's. He didn't achieve many grammys or other awards in his life time and hes more know for his controversy's in the past years then his music, even his last slo album being a critical flop. Theres artist who have never flopped so idk what the whole hype about him is but ill give respect to new brunswik, new jersey based emcee cymarhshal law on his tribute track on him. spitting truth about the critcal aclaimed legend, excpet "he created the top selling album of all time" (the eagles can claim the title for that). "we all use to follow the man who ran around with a sock on his hand" a vid trufull line cus every oen who every one at one point in time either when he was alive or not alive (me beign a exception. Metaphors are As witty as ever (made people scream like the song with janet) proves cy hasnt lost his skills since his underground CLASSIC HIP-HOP INT HE SOUL ALBUM. Cant wait for the newest release from cy cus he shows new jersey is a hot bed of ill emcees and he is at the top of the pack. (even legend krs-one cosigns on that

AMREV 2: PUNKING OUT THE HOLIDAYS

www.myspace.com/amrevii

the liegh valley has been coming a hotbed of talent in the punk music scene. 21 rounds, my morning glory have released 2 hardcore punk releases early thisyear. ambergris has been rocking out live shows at crock rock to possitve reviews and feedback> And local ska/punk hereos am rev2 have been touring the pa scene allyear as well as making a remarkble ska remake of a christmas classic. There version of felize navida is a nice new twist on a christmas classic. They make the song there own with a mix of sazaphoen and guitars almost makes u want to mosh out to a christmas tune. There sound hasnt been pulled of as good since early/midlate 90's rancid albums. Theres also strapped with a politcal message there song no more war could be a anthem for america "overseas killing havent solver any problems jsut makes more" a true politcal statement alot of bands are scared to make nowadays. Deffintly one of the leading local bands in the liegh valley make sure to go check them out on one of there 2 decemember shows december 11:th 8 pm at the meatlocker in montclair new jersey and on december 19th 6pm at Senorita Burrita in lancaster,pa ill def be at the montclair show so i hope to see you there

NYC UNDERGROUND SCENE TOP TEN EMCEES #7 JESSE JAMEZ FIGUEROLS

www.myspace.com/jessjamez

Sine the conecption of hip-hop when a non black emcee breaks on the scene criticts are quik to critisize on there skintone and label them a gimick and others flood out by the dozen thankfull for the minority emcee that opened up wider doors for them to enter the game.Ever since vanilla ice entered the rap game white rappers have been flooding out the dozen. some of them considered rap legends (3rd, base eminem,) underground hereos (cage. ra the rugged man, vinnie paz, slug) but a strong magority have been labeled as a joke a gimmick trash (mark_mark and the funky bunc, pall wall, lil whyte, bubba sparz, house of pain.)When jin one bets freestyle friday crown and signed to ruff ryders asain emcees got a cult following from there asain fan base. A vast magority of purtorican emcees with a few exceptions (chino xl, joel ortiz big pun (rip) have been sellouts (fayt joe) or reagton radio trash. Jesse jamez is trying to change your opion on purtorican emcees. Hailing from the bronx jesse jamez not only got the backing from end of the week witch is the most dominite force in keeping real hip-hop alive, jes also linked with fuck ya lyfe witch os vastly growing as the biggest talent bed in the new york rap scene. Also as a respected producer with his jesstramental serious jesse has shown he has what it takes to make a diffrence in the rap game. A true hustler doing weekly shows at eudub plus constantly in the studio recording new music jesse is deffintly a emcee to watch out for.

JIVE THE UNIVERSAL HELPING YOU FEEL BETTER (ALBUM REVIEW)

www.myspace.com/jivetheuniversal

Rappers in todays society set a bad example on todays youth. Every track filled with graphic profanity tales of drug dealing and violence, sexual inuando in 95 percent of the top 10 rap tracks out now adays. So its a breathe of sunshine when you see a rap cd that doesnt have a explicit warning sticker on it. Its even a bigger breather when you go on the artist myspace you see hes christian rap. Even more of a breather a cristian rapper who actually has underground vibe to his beats adn actually using worplay and metephors and double rhyme schemes while delivery his message about the lord. Jersey native jive the universal isnt your average cristian rap artist. He could easily crossover into the demanding underground rap scene and get the same respect in love as every other emcee. His new album helping you feel better is a 13 track cd doign exactly what the title says to help make u feel better., and after listing to thsi cd i deffintly feel better about the current state of hip-hop. on the 2nd track of the album the one is a ode to the lord helping him get to where he is without out being to preach yusing metaphors that could easily impress the average hi-hop fan "sacrife a lamb ill sacfrice a hand just to gain u as a fan" Not only is this a great cristian rap cd its also a great rap/rock cross bread cd not your every day rap/rock cd not hard rock but most instremntals are acusitic slow vibed guitars played by jive himself and at tiems imcorpting other local bands to do the instrementals. On the track to be honest he brings jersey rock band nine circles to incorprate the guitar and the hook and the results is a amazing perfectly blended rap/rock record. The first verse jives rhyme scheme is amazing incoratign double and tripple multi rhyme schemes in every bar and excuting it with no filler witch even most underground cats cant do nowadays. Overall this album si nto only uplifitn and positve its a amazing hrap cd good for any true udnergroudn fan cristian or not

PRODUCER SHOWCASE: CHRIS RENNE

www.myspace.com/emcee_skillz

Nowadays it doesnt take skills to make a beat. The job of a producer has changed, you no longer have to go to a record shop and go crate shopping for thousand of vinals, all you need is a computer and frootyloops and you can make a beat using 1000+ pre-dled sampled sounds. I even ammit im a abuser of the symbol program. Only one producer out ther can be consider a actual producer usign frooty loops witch is 9th wonder no one else can say there trully a rap beat maker. Back in the days it use to be mcp sampling units and 2 turntables. Deep in budd lake new jersey theres a producer that hasnt forgot what it takes to make a TRUE rap beat. His names chris renne the main producer over at hacketstown nj bases stizz studious. His production work has been praised by oKplayer witch is a main force inthe underground scene with artist like the roots and cannibal ok signed to them. He has production work on jive the universals new album as well as solo albums where he incorpates hip-hop beats with live rock guitar on hsi experemntial MGMT like vocal project. Uniquess is rare like i said inthe jake haze review but having uniqueness and talent and able to fuse gengres with styaing true to hip-hop beat makign tricks makes you worthy of the aclaim. National renion producer mark monrson even co-signs on his talent and if that isnt enough for you then check him out for yourself and give me you openion

taktikal (missing you SINGLE REVIEW)

www.myspace.com/taktikal

Union city jersey stand up first a strong debute from a-mess now another emcee out of u.c released a new single. Taktikal's missing you is a nice vibe love song about missing a old lover over a sampled beat that has a nice vibe to it that sets the track on a mainstream course. Taktical lyrically delivers but delivery wise it could be a little louder i gotta sit here ear to the speakers to here his lyrics idk if its a shitty quility or just the fact hes deliver aint loud enough. witch always effects a track, but like i state taktical delivers for a mainstream base hit. the one 2 nursey rychme sceme raps laden with metaphorical pick-up lines reminsant on tonight from a-mess we reviewed earlier, shows he has some talent mixed in there. the mid of the last verse picks up thoguh as he complex's his rhyem shcem from a singel multi 2 a double multi bar "my love can levitate and now you feel tall your my angel god answermy call i cant stand cus ill fall" is the best show of lyricism in this track. overall sounds like a track that juelz santana would release thfrom the flow 2 the beat matches a dipset style ovr all solidid effort

NEXT 2 BLOW: BLOCK MCCLOUD

www.myspace.com/blockmccloud
"The term legend is thrown around loosely in hip-hop. It sometimes seems that any stumblebum who has made it past 30 without dying is entitled to the adulation of internet boys and the various rags they support. But what of one Mr. Block Mccloud? He has innovated lyricism and founded one of the most seminal crews in New York's second golden age. He plotted one of the most successful underground concept singles ever released, and most importantly, he survived the inevitable soul grinding shadiness that the talented seem to always suffer at the hands of the unscrupulous. Through all of this he has refined his writing, his business acumen, and kept spitting the verses that make future generations of dope MC's smack rewind till the button breaks." "Born Ismael Diaz Jr., in Park Slope, Planet Brooklyn, Block certainly was in the right place to absorb cultural and stylistic influences. Like every rapper reared in the sacred borough, he is quick to credit its social collage as key in spurring his development. " I was raised in Park Slope which was and is still a very eclectic and culturally and economically diverse neighborhood," Block explains. " North of 5th avenue, very paid. South of 5th avenue, strictly ghetto"". "His snarling, growling, syllable-heavy, cannon flow mad him a distinctive presence on wax; the type of MC other MC's strive to emulate. He and His Brooklyn Academy brethren had the lyrics and the dark charisma needed to dominate......But dispite the lack of access to his material, he has achieved cult-like international fame as one of the most brutal spitters alive."Growing up in Park Slope Brooklyn, block mcloud first made his name with a group called Zooty Zoo, appearing on the Ecko Unlimited MixTapes that they'd give out for free with a purchase of a T-shirt. He then went on to appear on The Lyricist Lounge Volume 1 Compilation Album with Talib Kweli and Shabamm Sadik and of course his other group Word a mouth. By then Block Mccloud had already embedded his name on the Underground Asphalt with his gritty and unmistakable flow and complex rhyme skemes. Speaking of Skeme, he then founded the "Super Group" Brooklyn Academy and released a single with 321 Records called Plan A. Skeme Team was their alter ego on that single and it went on to sell 30,000 units and was the biggest selling single for that label. Brooklyn Academy soon caught the attention of Mammoth RecordsDisney, would have signed a $300,000 deal and God only knows where they'd be today.Block Mccloud kept it moving, recording Jean Grae's, Pumpkinhead's, and Black Panther's next few albums (Attack of the Attacking Things, Code Red, Beatiful Mind, The Darkest Night Ever) and begins establishing himself as a premiere Engineer. In 2006, He officially assumed his rightful place in the Underground Hip-hop Hall of fame when he released his classic solo albums, "Spitting Image" and "I was Drunk when i made this".From There Block Begins his onslaught of the Chorus Game writing such classic hooks as style wars by jean gray mess you made by sean price and outlive the war, readly meaolody and god flesh off jedi mind tricks cds., . You can also find him on MF Grimm's American Hunger Album, Soul Purpose, Diabolic and Thirstin howl albums and many more (See Discography). And its no wonder they call him "Captain Hook" now, with upcoming choruses for Poison Pen, Doap Nixon, Killah Priest, Snowgoons, King Magnetic, AutismDemunz (Canada), Sick Jacken (Cali), and many many more, he has easily become the Akon of the Underground scene and soon to be Mainstream. As an official member of Army of The Pharaohs!!, you will also hear him all over the upcoming AOTP release in 2009.He has contributed to the success of so many in this game. Now, its his turn. Block Mccloud has begun re-"Educating" the masses with his group Brooklyn Academy / Bored of Education(EMI/Goldust), " Tearing it Down" on every stage across the country and the world. With two solo albums(Four Walls produced by Snowgoons and Perversion in D minor as well as two Lost Soulz full length LP's(Purgatory/Asylum) scheduled to be released through his independent label Disturbia Music Group in association with Well Done Entertainment, He will be hitting the industry like a Hurricane in 2009!!

SOMBER : pa's finest rock band

2005 one of pa's top unsigned rock bands were formed. Headed by Michelle Balsavag on vocals somber of out higgins pa spent no time screweing around and got right on the path to sucess. There first cd one step away was critcally aclaimed in local newspapers adn well as the first single destiny getting suffiecient radio play, even beign featured on a a special news feature supporting are troops over seas. In a few month by word of mouth the band sold 1000 cd's. They started playing smalls hows around the east coast getting there name out more then just in the pa local scene. Then they ran into bret alexander of saturation acres who helped produce breaking benjamins first cd. They cut a 4 track demo then started headlining for National acts at crock rock. In a matter of time somber was considered one of the best local bands to rock the crock. With the local scene going craze over somber and wanting new material they released a 13 track cd bitersweet. The first single "bittersweat" got heavy local radio play as well as having a video release. The song about about a persons sanity falling apart and being ok with it over trashing guitars became one of 2008's top rock songs and the video perfectly matching the vibe of the song witch you dont see at all know adays even rockers tryign to get all flasshy. They kept it simple and to the point. The album always had a stellar cover of johhny cash'sfolsom prison staying true to the orignal and not destroyign a classic liek most bands tend to do. Just released his new cd the last laugh he show's us that the island does indeed got talent. His first single UP IN THE AIR is a nice feel good song repping new york city with a nice catch hyookabout blazing and smoking. The verse is filled with witty metaphors "i catch chicks on the rebound like dennis rodman" " i keep the northeast as hot as austin." besides metaphors he knowns how to keep a rhyme scheme going the whole verse without having to force words to keep the scheem. deffintly shows promise as a emcee if insoniak is any relief staten island may be a hot bed of btalent waitign to be seen

nyc underground scene top ten emcees #8 WEBBAFIED

www.myspace.com/webbafied

the drive of a emcee nowadays is gone releasing a album every 2 years or so not enough new material to keep fans alive. The drive to keep a steady fan base and keep your loyal fans happy has diminished. The mixtape circuit going from monthly releases to a guest drop on someone a dj mixtape here and there. It seems the heart of a emcee has faded. Maybe thats what fame does to you luckily webbafied aint one of those emcees. Dropping a free mixtape on eadub.com every few months. Repping his hometown to death with his new single brooklyn nights describing a day and night of a day though brooklyn though his eyes over a nice soufull beat. n Rapping about a never ending problem police corruption most rappers wont touch on without getting popped on a bid, but webafied keeps it real. Dropping knolege over soulfull beats in a way that hasnent been done since common with everyone looking for the next hit hes looking though mo-town crates fpr a vobe to rap about the every day brooklyn cat something that hasnt been done since biggie with such lyrikal prowness. Yea raps about days from selling drugs but also a botu getting out the game to make a better self. Something you never see in a rapper even back in the golden days. With no magor record deal he finds tiem to rap in both his hometown brooklyn as well as oversees in paris. Linked as one of the only non batttles rappers on end of the week webafied is a sure beast/ With a recent spot on bets the deal you can expect big things fromthis brooklyn rapper

Lokey: From nameless 2 fameous 2 hiatus

www.myspace.com/lokeylovesyou

For every rapper making it in the industry is there goal. Most rappers enjoy the fame and regonition of stardom. Love the touring traveling and support of fans. Some on the other hand get so consumed into the industry that they forget about the people that got htem there in the first place. There friends, family, women there dating. they get so overwelled with sucess that they forget what got them there in the first place. This is the case for allentown native and philly born lokey. Even though not a huge name no distrubution deal or even a record deal lokey still managed a cult following in the juggalo community, performing at the gathering of the juggalo 3 years straight and beign feautured on the hachet house release tunnel runners. 10 years in the industry and ten strong years it was. STarting off in 1999 recording his firt ep with a local philly emcee 100 proof (not the white rapper 100 proof) lokey began his career allready a well recieved artist getting local aclaim from the sorrounding scene. Over the next 2 years lokey would make sure to make a name for himself. Starting the group "temple rain" with fellow philly natives green villian and sleepy lokey would go from critcally aclaim to acheiving a cult following in the philly scene by his undying hustle to get there music out there. Lokey spent hours a day posting and handign out flyers otn he streets slanging samplers and makign itnereactions with his fans witch most "corner cd hustles" wouldnt give the time to do. Most people would sell you a cd and walk away lokey would talk to his fans and make sure they new they were apriacted for buying the cd. Temple rain released to cd's before there break up with lokey being the only one to make moves out of the defucnt ban. With allreayd a cult local folowing lokey connected more wiht the local scene and starting producing for sorrounding artist making himself nto only well recieved rapper but a prducer as well. In 2004 lokey finally decided to release his solo debute follow me as a free net download. Allready with a cult followign and his obbesion to get his name out there lokey manage to get 43'000 people to download his debute album. This is an impressive feat for a rapper who has no dsitrubution deal nor no label support. Unliek ost artist gettign worse from release to release lokey manage to get better each release and gett better recvieved with his next to lps to finally in 2006 he garned enoguh attention that phycopathic records had got in touch with him to go on tour with blaze ya dead homie and boondox on there tombstone terror tour. All the hustle has finally paid off for a starving artist, finally getting national aclaim on 2008 tunnel runners released of hatchet house records. With his crew intact mission infect lokey looked like he would be the next CULT hero in the underground scene making a movemnet of the likes of kotton mouth kings and insanse clwon posse. but with allthe exposure lokey drifted from the limelight to settle down on rapping goign on hiatus to get his life together. As hestated "I'm taking off now, to try and get my life together. I always said I'd never "quit" music, because every rapper does that and comes back a year later. And who knows, maybe I will. All I know is right now I need to disappear" so this aint goodbye"

This isint a goodbye this is just a hiatus and hopefulylwhen lokey returns he will take the music industry by storm

novicane the scorpian: struggles in boston

Either a mainstream sucees or a underround legend a poppy sellout or a politcal warrior about 80% of all emcees have the same thing in common. They came from nothing and made something out of it. Either you act a full to get clubs shaking or be a conpiracy theorist rapper most rappers have been though poor households, family abuse, hate, racism sometype of struggle they had to over come. Some rappers still go though that struggle. Rappers like cage and r a the rugged man have spend years on the streets homeless and in otand otu of phyc wards and even with undergroudn suces till sleaping on the couches of freinds cant afford to pay rent. Others on the otherhand arent as lucky to even get a underground deal even if there respected ant talented enough to do so. On the cold streats of boston theres a rapper out there with a loyal fanbsae 10 of thousands of fans no record labekl no studio no home. Novicane the scorpain born andrew breer can vouge for any rapper out there mainstream trash or underground complexicist that the road to making it in rap isnt a easy one. With over 110065 loyal myspace fans and a cult following in the juggalo rap subculture youd thinkhed have someone to held him out. Not but hes used to having no one there for him and hes ok with that. On his newest track order out of choas he gives a vivd discription though live though his eyes. having to hustle to keep food on the table "im bagging and chopping more units then 50". a true rapper even bringing his hydroplane family into his limelight and fanbase even though none of them got lyrical ability then can touch. Ive been following novicane for over 3 years now even producing a track on his classic coffin album and 3 years later hes stil going though the same fight and still telling the world the conpiracy theories the goverment got the struggles hes been though and his graphic metephors of murder. He might be the bum you pass by on the way to work but 100% hes more talented then you'd ever be and hopefully soon all the struggle will pay-off for this emcee with more drive then jimmy johnson

A-MESS feat agl TONIGHT (SINGLE REVIEW)

myspace.com/amess16

New jerseys never been a hot-bed for rap not in the underground scene or the mainstream scene. who do we got pacewon, redman, chino xl, joe budden and the list ends there. So when i here theres a jersey rapper making moves and has a video on mtv 2 rotation im popping into check it out. A-mess is a union city native who's new single tonight will deffintly get ass's shaking in the clubs. With a high tempo beat and a melodic and catchy hook tonight has all makings of a top 10 rap hit. His flow is a little basic on this track but as i listened though his music he has lyrical ability so its obvious hes out to make a club hit. Even with a basic flow theres a mix of metaphors in the first verse that shows hes just not another brain washed mainstream rapper.Hes all about picking up chicks in the club and he def got the ability to do it with the lines tossed in thsi track. So if your looking for material to steal to pick up a chick id say cop ti ssingle and steal his swag.

TONEZ CANT STOP ME (SINGLE REVIEW)

myspace.com/tonezworld

Cant stop me is the first single off tonez upcoming album the limelight. The hook is a catchy chant that can get your blood pumping over a infectious club style beat. Like always tonez flow is impressive. the complex rhyme scheme in the first 8 bars of the first verse is impressive as can be while matching his delivery perfect with the beat. the beat isnt my styling since im not into mainstream club bangers but for a club style track he stays being a lyrical emcee. By this first single the title is correct he cant be stopped and looking in a crystal ball can i say record deal in the up coming year?

el destructo: scum fuck to the coor

myspace.com/eldestructo666

while growing up your mom and dad always tell you don't do drugs but never give you a logical explanation on why you shouldnt. easton, pa based punk band el destructo sums thatup pretty good over melodic guitar riffs on there song cocaine smoking "ill make my wife suck a cock and i dotn care unless im high. on that same song they show why welfare and social secutiy should do background checks and drug test before adminstrating benifits "i sold my foodstamp card for rock". el destructo are true die hard punk scum fucks to the coor. a rare bread in this music soceity where the punk scene is filed with poppy hooks and emo suicide ballads. El destrucot glorifys the life of a scum fuck., with lyrics about smearing shit on the walls pissing in chicks mouth and passing out trashed on friends couches "bathroom partying. there anarcist to the coor making music to break shit to. there also entropanors runnning a clothing line "scum inc" a modelling agency and a tatoo shop "pleasure in pain" they stick tothe punk d.i.y ethics to the coor and they don't seem to be stopping. no wonder why they held a faux presidnetial campaign last year they def would of got my vote.

producers showcase: HAZE

A emcee is nothing without its producer. Without the right beat the masterpiece you just crafted could be ruined by a sub-par instremental. Like a emcee the orignality in the craft of the producer has been lost. everyone out the make the next ringtone dance crave. experemting with loops, sounds and samples is a thing of the past. Allentown producer and co owner of duffle bgy studios jake haze has shown us orignality as a producer aint lost. Most of his production could be used for reggaeton latin spanish rap tracks but any skilled emcee would quikly pick up one of his beats to see if they can match the flow to his space age cudi like style he consit of. overall hes a good up and comer producer flaws is its easily can be told hes using frooty loops do to the way sampling is and todays society frooty loops producer isnt a producer but hes def above average for your eevry frooty loops producer, and deffintly original. id def spit over his united in him beat for my own album so hes deffintly a producer i regremend for all you emcees new to the game looking for free beats to spit over and a nice smooth relaxing vibe or a space age orignal hip-hop sound

adlib say hello to the bad guy (review)

The liegh valley has become one of the go 2 places to find the next great underground emcee. Ever since king magnetic joined supergroup army of the phaoroahs labels and producers have been scooping though valley picking out the next ill emcee. Snowgoons 2008 release blacksnow showcased 3 such emcees from my local scene. king magnetic, godilla and adlib. One of them is now a dj for shadyville and just released a mixtape thats been talked about and praised in hip-hop circles since its release. Adlibs say hello to the bad guy is a album unlike other ungerground albums. mixing rock guitars, hardcore screaming, polical messages and a lyrical onlaught of metephors and multiple rhyme schemes. like mostrap albums it has samples but taking a page out of ill bills cookbook he takes his samples from rock songs on the polital charged independence day he raps about shifty goverment tax's and hypocrosicy in the american goverment over the instrementals from "shipping out to boston" by the dropkick murrays. Not everything is politcal theres the need to hustle because the goverment makes it hard to make legal paper in society nowadays. The track click click bang is a look at adlibs gangsta's side unlike most rappers he doesnt glorify hes hustle and make it look like hes balign because of it he spits over a girtty beat about gritty tales from the streats. He makes it known he aint like the rest of todays rappers on in the cobras he spits "i aint over rappin getting hits on youtube i aint spitting punchlines in chatrooms". he isnt woen fo your internent emcees hes a self made lyrical beast birthed from the streats and not off overused concepts. and to prove himself he's a emcee worth listing to he made one of the most annoying beats and songs "eminems we made you" into a track worthy of the grammyw e made you is probally gunna win on the track mud on the floor. where he talks about how he wont listing to your wack shit. Even though locally overlooked do to the cult followings 2r and other locla juggalo sets habe but nationally respected say hello to the badguy dont disapointed

new york undeground scene's top ten emcees #9 SYANIDE

http://www.myspace.com/syanidesmusic

The younger generation is to be blamed for the downfall of hip-hop. 18 year old soljah boy in ice t's words "single handely killed hip-hop", the new jerk scene is run by 19-20 year old rappers only out for a paycheck and forgot that rap isnt about money its about lyrical ability and respect. its seems products of the time rap started got lost on what rap sounded like when they were concieved. The drive to be talented has been lost to be heard as someones ringtone when you walk down the street. its nice to see some youngn guns from the birth place of hip-hop havent forgotten about there routes. lyrically abilitaty and killing beef lyrically instead of literally. Thats 22 year old brooklyn emcees syanide's objective is leave no emcees standing.A nationaly known battle cat for his 2 and 2 battles with fellow nyc emcee majesty on uk's jump off tv, synadie is allready on his way of acheiving that goal. another breathe of fresh air is hes no only a ill younging hes also one of the few battle emcees that can convert talent to written tracks. His ezekiel produced track life music is a vivid look at the struggling emcees life. "my grandfarther had a dream that i was isnide a caskey out of know where i jumped out and started rappin" shows the young emcees drive to get off the hustle tip before he dies for that cheddar and make a living doing what hes best out. etwining metephors and multis into beautifull hope music. Synaide may be young but he raps like the legends from his birth generation

www.myspace.com/nemsmurderfest
whoever said being a cocky asshole would ruin your chances of being respecting in rap must of never gaves nems the memo. straight out of coney island nems has been lyrically murdering emcees to the point there literally in tears since 2004 when he was crowned mtv2 fight klubs top freestylist Hes a cocky arragonant bastard child who says fuck your lyfe aint isnt afraid to say your mothers a whore and he gave your girlfriend the clap. At the same time hes regarded as new yorks illest emcees and one of the top ten battle rappers in the world. Now that takes talent his fans are the same people he bluntly insult in person and they'd take it as a honor. at the moment he's currently working on his long delayed debute album murderfezital. orginally to be named presidents day but do to label problems and distribition getting fucked over its been delayed for about 2 years now. That doesnt mean you cant get your quik fix. you can dl over 100 nems tunes for a dollar a peace over at NECROHIPHOP.COM/NEMS and dl his free nems mixtape for free over at eodub.com his latest mixtape supermarvelous is one of 2009s top albums filled with street heat that any hip-hop lover would enjoy. sadly enough nems is currently unsigned hype. once signed to necro's phycological records but dropped even before a album could be released. in my opinionhe was probally dropped because hes digital albums and singels were selling more then necro on his own web-site witch prooves how highyl anticipated hes debutealbum willbe. but now Hes using d.i.y ethics running his own record label fuck ya lyfe with signnees such as underground legend posion pen and end of the week top ranked emcees such as iron solmon and jessa figurura. so theres no way he can fail.

#10 mez

the bronx may have birthed hip-hop but manhatan has been hosting the life support in the new millenium, and mez has been one of its top suppliers one half of the manhatanites with selsufficante. not being pulled in my hip-hops growing obbessing with dance and fake gangerism mez decides to be stuck ina time warp and have a 80's sound. a true homage to the 80's with scratching in the beats he spits on and spitting with complexity kool g rap and rakim honed. i first got turned on to mez listing to one of 2006's top hip-hop albums mf grimms american hunger (boing) my first thought was who was this ill emcee spitting on this record so using one of the new mileniums only upsides in music (myspace) i searched his name and i was even more inpressed wha tiheard on the web-site then i thought i would. the first thing i heard was a sampled hook witthe lyrics (ive had my share of cross's so bad circles that lead to know where) lines that hit me hard. true lines of hope and when mez started rapping about his hope of ghetting out the ghetto and hustle showed hope for the hi[-hopculture. ot every rapper wants to sel drugs and gang bangs theres someout there who want to make it in the industry to get out the hustle that holds him down. witch shows mez is trully drivin to make it in the game. and by all means i hope he does the game needs a little hope in todays society

AUGMENT NEW BEGININGS EP CD REVIEW

www.myspace.com/augment

New jerseys been known to break some of todays biggest emo rock bands such as brand new, saves the day, and sense's fail, but its presence in hardcore metal has been mear to none. then came along augment. now defucnt and the band being on seperate path and bands. before there break up they released a stellar 5 track ep new beginings. my looking at the bands lyrics on sheet you could mistake them for your average every day jersey emo band. with lyrical content about heartbreak (spin kick the curb) (lock jaw) (helds hold high) you'd think they fit perfectly with the scene. but unlike the emo pussy's with there whiney suck ass vocals that should be autoned with high pitch squeled screams and soft guitar riffs, augment had brutal vocals that match the brutal heartbreak and feelings delivered in the music, heavy guitar riffs that would get your angered blood boiling. def a hardcore sound perfectly fittign for the angered feelings easily expressed in there music. the albums highlights though are not johhny brutals lyrics of his pain but guitarist chris guaraca's hard hitting guitar riffs. lock jaw is the perfect example of this 20 year old scotch palin natives abilities. if i was a talent scount id deffintly be in line on picking up this talented guatarist. the alum is more then just a ode to heartbreat though unlike the emo trash jersey has unleashed they actually know howto show love back to the state that showed there band love on the jersey anthem 908. overall this ep was hsowing high hopes for there 2ndrelease before the break-up a true showing that jersey has more than emo bullshit.

LUCA THE QUIK FIX EP REVIEW

www.myspace.com/fixisin
"POLY TICS or many parasites (blood suckers) but i try and talk about shit other people wont go near.. and still stay true to my roots" a politcal statement by a true blunt emcee who don't care who he will piss off with his rhymes even if it means drasstik consenquences. thats what luca is a crossbread of immortal techniques anti-goverment rhymes with sabac reds conspiracy theory laden raps. a rapper who's rhymes actually make listners think on how fucked up this "free" america we live in realy is. straight out of phillidelfia a melting pot for the underground scene that consit of heaviweights such as vinnie paz reef the lost cause doap nixon and outerspace, luca proves h can hang with the cities best when it comes to lyrical prowness, and his new ep the quik fiz proves that. from the hard hitting rock infused annoni domini beat that starts off don't belive me you can tell your ready for a lyrical experince thats gunna have your mind running. a politcal massacre on past and present conspiracy theory's straight up telling you he dont give a fuck if you belive him or not but this is the reality of are fucked up country. and fromt here on you can tell america's gunna have a lashing it hasnt had since immortal tehcniques the 3rd world. lashing out as a proclaimed illuminati , the health care problem, and wall streats downfall on sheep fangs to 9/11 bein a inside job on rebel. the true standout on this album is free dumb witch is a nthem to rbnring true freedom in the "land of the free"u can tell hed go to jail for his belvies a true revulutanary that is immpssible to fidn evenin the udnerground scene that is filled with gangsta's and emo's. so if you can stomach the truth the f.b.i dont want you to here the quik fizx is deffintly the album for you. speaking of freedom this album is a free download getting the truth out to the mass's not giving a fuck about a paycheck a true american for you http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=966497 overall one of the ebst cd's ive heard ina while 9 out of 10

rich and don one good time (REVIEW)

www.myspace.com/richdon

experimental hip-hop is the in grace in mainstream latley. if its not rappers trying to be rockers its backpackers messing with autone and electronica samples. some artist this can mean killing there mainstream credibility for some possitve reviews (lil waynes rebirth) (lupe fiasco solar midnite) some it can mean destroyin critical aclaim for the sake of keeping up with the music industry (kanye west p. didy) and others keep it orignal from the start and suceed at being diffent (outkast, pharyce kid cudi) and some artist are inspired by these legends and use there styling as there base. witch gets me to a local act out of my home town phillipsburg, new jersey rich and don consting of rich rubel and don mills. they have the perfect mix of meaningfull good vibe rap mixed with non- auto-tune r and b vocals blended over space aged instrmentals reminicate of old pharcyde and newer kid cudi. recently they have released there debute album one good time. and the release of the album in todays society couldnt be any better for the hip-hop music scene where expermental is in even on gangsta rap labels (b.o.b is a experemental rapper mixing classical and eletronica and is signed to ti's grand hustle witch before his enquirment was strictly gangsta rappers. even though there a good band they don't seem to stray away from the cliches of hip-hop there may not be sex and fassion but partying and getting high is also a constant theme in maintream trash. luckily ron and don can be catchy and lyrical at the same time witch is present on there lead singer mr. officer featuring solution another phillipsburg emcee. orignallity is lost at other times though skies of nature sounds like a scrapped track from cudi's man on the moon:end of the day that would of featured a auto-tuned kanye on it. same goes for space age love. the albums strong point would be the title track witch has a nice vibing beat with a vivd description of there struggles without rappping out the usual selling drug hustle struggle you see in music now adays. overall this album is a refreshing release out of my local scene compared to the trash that has been released latley overall 7.5 out of 10
