R.E.G. feat. Masta Skillz "Freakshow/ 7th Street" SINGLE REVIEW

freakshow/7th streat are the first 2 singles off regs highly anticipated 2nd album blood splattered angel that is a follow up to his award winning melechony red. By the first few bars of the track freekshow it doesnt sound that r.e.g shows no sign of slowing down. Going after mainstream rap the only way a true lyricist could "its a rap i return with a message to spread use your head you just some fake artist with dreads, or them little soulja boys that do novelety rap that shit is wack" Rap is dead and all these fake emcees and child rappers are runing it and reg flows with anger in his voice on how sad realy hip-hop is so he picks up the mic to help revive the genre, knowing though its not gunna be easy "i know living in this rap game is killed to be killed but i relised that it no longer takes skills" witch is sad or true any one with a gimick could get a record deal. The 2nd half is a ode to the streets he lives on 7th streat and showing the every day struggle of a allentown resident with a guest feature with g-childs former hype man masta skills, where we talks about the hustle he sees but how hes not gunna fall into it and raps again on the sorry state of the rap game "this is a dark era for rap i relise that but r.e.g is here to take it all back" and if he keeps rapping like this with a message and a laid back flow he deffintly will. Masta skills comes deeper then usual on this track giving a nice visual of what he deals with both of these tracks are amazing.
